Professional Activities

(Korean)

At STEM Science Center, we do not teach sciences with a textbook or SAT Prep books.  Students should equip themselves with powerful knowledge on the topics they would like to explore.    Rather, we teach application of their scientific knowledge to the challenge of problem-solving skills.  And, further, they will do the research, summarize data and publish the data to the most appropriate peer-reviewed journals.    This opportunity of upgraded activities as young scientists are not given from any other institutes, but, our students are required to write up their data and publish with the ideology of their own intellectual properties.

(1) AAPS (American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists): AAPS is the most active professional association for the pharmaceutical scientists around the world.   Every year, approximately 5,000 professions are gathered in a convention center located in the United States.   Our young scientists have published our data for this annual meeting for the last 10 years with the research categories of oral insulin formulation, drug delivery systems, safety pharmacology and neurosciences as seen in the list below.

(2) SPS (Safety Pharmacology Society): The annual meeting of Safety Pharmacology Society has been growing more in these days.  Safety pharmacology focuses mainly on the safety issues of new chemical identities for the adverse effects that can be monitored using top-notched instrumentations such as telemetry. Though this field is a part of toxicology, unlike it, multiple physiological variations should be monitored after injected with the minimal amount of testing articles.  Mostly, EKG, EEG, body temperature, blood pressure, and activity have been the parameters to be monitored wirelessly and analyzed for Q-T intervals and any abnormalities in physiology.

(3) CRS (Controlled Release Society): The members of Controlled Release Society have interests in developing new methods in delivering drugs into the human body at the targeting site, and in targeting time using many chemicals, or material sciences such as enteric coating, pH-sensitive polymers, water-absorbing materials.  In addition, the pharmaceutical scientists would like to create any ways of enhancing bioavailability through the promoted solubility using some chemical methods.  And, they usually gather together in a  beautiful city around the world.

(4) ACS (American Chemical Society): Founded in 1876 and chartered by the U.S. Congress, ACS is the world’s largest scientific society. ACS’s mission is to advance the broader chemistry enterprise and its practitioners for the benefit of Earth and its people. The vision is to improve people’s lives through the transforming power of chemistry.
